第13届世界计算力学大会及近场动力学分会简介

世界计算力学大会每两年举办一届,每届轮换在美洲、欧洲和亚洲的城市召开。大会旨在促进世界计算力学各相关领域专家和学者交换新思想和信息,推动计算力学及工程应用的相关研究、应用和教育发展。
第十三届世界计算力学大会(WCCM XIII)暨第二届泛美应用力学大会(PANACM II)于2018年7月22日至27日在美国纽约•曼哈顿•时代广场•马奎斯万豪酒店成功召开。本次会议由国际计算力学学会主办,美国计算力学协会,美国哥伦比亚大学和美国德州大学奥斯丁分校联合承办。到目前为止,第十三届世界计算力学大会已经成为在美召开的最大型的计算力学领域学术盛会,大会收到了3500份摘要和将近3000人参会。

首日大会主报告邀请到2013年诺贝尔化学奖获得者、斯坦福大学Michael Levitt教授作关于“复杂化学系统的多尺度模型发展”的报告,偌大的会场座无虚席。
再来说说近场动力学短期课程和各个分会的情况:
本次大会中近场动力学(Peridynamics, PD)短期课程和相关的三个分会吸引了众多学者的广泛关注。本次大会历时五天,近场动力学相关的分会就持续召开了将近四天,再加上其他分会中包含的几个相关近场动力学的报告,大会共有45场近场动力学的口头报告,可见近场动力学理论及其应用研究已经成为本次大会中较为活跃的主题之一。
近场动力学的短课程由美国德州大学奥斯汀分校的John Foster教授、桑迪亚国家实验室的David Littlewood博士和橡树岭国家实验室的Pablo Seleson博士共同开设,讲解近场动力学基础知识和程序设计内容。
相关近场动力学理论三个主要分会包括:
MS315 Peridynamic Theory and Multiscale Methods for Complex Material Behavior(复杂材料行为的近场动力学理论和多尺度方法);
MS304 Peridynamics and Its Applications (近场动力学及其应用);
MS808 Local-Nonlocal Coupling Methods for Nonlocal Models(相关非局部模型的局部-非局部耦合方法)
与会学者针对近场动力学理论、模型、方法及应用的相关问题展开了报告与讨论,如:
近场动力学介质的波传播问题;
近场动力学的局部边界条件研究;
近场动力学与连续介质力学的耦合方法;
近场动力学的多尺度耦合框架;
延性或脆性材料断裂的近场动力学模拟;
近场动力学与分子动力学的耦合建模;

与会专家学者一致认为,作为一种全新的理论,近场动力学在理论、模型、方法、应用等各个方面还有大量相关问题需要深入研究,积极开展深入的专门研讨和学术交流非常重要。本次大会对进一步加强近场动力学相关研究领域的国际交流与合作,推动近场动力学方法的发展、拓展近场动力学的影响,起到了非常积极的作用!
